Domestic Abuse

domestic violence Anyone can experience domestic abuse. People in abusive relationships can feel isolated and confused, unable to trust their own senses. They may find themselves excusing, justifying, or blaming themselves for their partner’s behavior. And when they reach a limit of what they will tolerate, their partner may apologize and promise it will never happen again, adding to their confusion.

Therapy can help you make sense of your experiences and decide what you need in order to have safe, healthy relationships.

We can start by discussing your concerns and goals in a free 50-minute consultation so you can decide if you would like to try working together.

I also help people who want to stop abusing their partners, on the conditions that they are seeking therapy of their own accord and that they abstain from any violence throughout treatment. People who are court mandated to treatment, or who are otherwise involved in the legal system, need to instead find a forensic therapist.
